报告摘要：In the digital age,anonymity is critically important since individuals' lifestyles, habits,whereabouts, and associations can be inferred from their online transactions.To authenticate without revealing the identity, also known as anonymousauthentication, is an important tool for user privacy protection. Anonymity,however, gives users the license to misbehave. Thus, practical privacy-friendlyauthentication mechanism should provide accountability on top of anonymity.Allowing the service providers to blacklist misbehaving anonymous users is away of ensuring user accountability. In this talk, we present some of our workswhich allow a service provider to anonymously authenticate users while keepingits ability to blocked their future access based on their behavior. We alsodiscuss how our results can be used in applications where privacy is of primeconcerns, e.g., payment systems.
报告人简介：Dr. Au is currentlyan assistant professor at the Department of Computing, the Hong KongPolytechnic University. He has been a lecturer at the School of ComputerScience and Software Engineering, University of Wollongong, Australia.
Dr. Au’s researchinterests include Information Security and Privacy, Applied Cryptography,Accountable Anonymity and Cloud Computing. He has published over 100 refereedjournal and papers, including the well-respected ACM Conference on Computer andCommunications Security (CCS) and the Network and Distributed System SecuritySymposium (NDSS). His work received many awards, including the 2009 PETrunner-up award for outstanding research in privacy enhancing technologies andthe best paper award at ACISP 2016. According to Google Scholar, his work hasbeen cited for more than 2000 times, with an h-index of 24 and i-10 index of54.
Dr. Au is an activemember in the community and has served as a program committee member of around30 international conferences. He has served as a PC co-chair of the 12thInternational Conference on Green, Pervasive and Cloud Computing, the 9thInternational Conference on Provable Security and the 8th InternationalConference on Network and System Security. He is an associate editor of theJournal of Information Security and Applications, Elsevier. He has served as aguest editor for various journals including Future Generation Computer Systems,Elsevier and Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Wiley.
